Marshmallow Pawpaw
Discovered in the same late-1800s orchard in Richmond, Kentucky, as ‘Honeydew’ and ‘Cantaloupe’, and released by Woody Walker.
An impressive cultivar noted for superb flavor, excellent texture, and very fast growth. Fruits are plump, well-formed, and medium-sized (about 200–255 g). The light-colored flesh has a chiffon / marshmallow / custard texture.
Flavor is a blend of tropical fruit and sweet honeyed melon; it is the sweetest of the three Woody Walker releases.
Freestone seeds make processing especially easy.
Ripens early season.
