"Al Horn" Pawpaw

Al Horn (Horn’s White / Al Horn White Flesh) Pawpaw

An extremely rare selection from the late Al Horn’s orchard in Indiana, prized for its nearly snow-white or creamy-white flesh—a highly unusual trait among pawpaws.

A late-season cultivar producing medium to large fruits (typically 200–350 g / 7–12 oz) with thin, light-green skin that can appear nearly translucent at peak ripeness.

Flesh is refined, very tender, and custard-like.

Flavor is mild, very sweet, and distinctive: coconut and pineapple with clear cherimoya notes, free of harsh aftertaste.

Not recommended for the far northern edge of the pawpaw range due to its late ripening.
